Biography:
CAREER TRANSACTIONS...Selected by Tampa Bay Devil Rays in 3rd Round of 2005 draft, but did not sign...Selected by Los Angeles Dodgers in 1st Round (26th overall) of 2006 draft...Traded to Pittsburgh with Andy LaRoche on 7/31/08 as part of a three-team deal with Los Angeles and Boston in which Jason Bay was dealt to the Red Sox.

...Fifth professional season...Member of the Pirates 40-man roster...Ranked by Baseball America as the 15th best prospect in the Pirates’ organization...Former first round pick of the Los Angeles Dodgers...Led all Tennessee junior college pitchers with a 0.91 ERA while recording 108 strikeouts in 79.0 innings for Motlow State Community College in 2006 where his father was the manager.

2009 SEASON
...Began his first full season in the Pirates system and spent the entire year with the Lynchburg Hillcats...Finished the 2008 season on the Disabled List and missed the first 2.5 months of the 2009 season with shoulder problems...Did not make his 2009 debut until June 9 when he suffered the loss against the Wilmington Blue Rocks when he allowed four runs over 4.1 innings... Hillcats were 4-9 in games that Morris started...Tossed a career-high 6.2 innings in three different starts including his last start of the season (9/4 @ Salem)...Placed on the Suspended List on 8/1...Sent to Bradenton before returning to the Hillcats active roster on 8/12...Finished the season on a three-game losing streak allowing 16 runs in his final three starts of the year.

2008 SEASON...Began the season with Great Lakes, the Dodgers Low-A Midwest League affiliate...Allowed three runs in each of his first three starts of the campaign...Pitched five no-hit innings in a no-decision vs. South Bend on 5/13...Pitched a rain-shortened complete game two hit shutout vs. South Bend on 6/27...Pitched 5.0 shutout innings with a season high eight strikeouts in a no-decision vs. Ced. Rapids on 7/14...Traded to Pittsburgh as part of a three team deal that sent  Jason Bay to Boston...Pitched five shutout innings in his Hickory debut, allowing two hits and four walks in a no-decision vs. Rome on 8/5...Left the game in a loss vs. Kannapolis on 8/16 with shoulder pain (4.2 IP, 5 R, 5 ER, 8 H, 5 BB, 3 K)...Did not appear in another game with Hickory

2007 SEASON...Missed the entire season, recovering from Tommy John surgery

2006 SEASON
...Made his professional debut for Short-A Ogden @ Idaho Falls (ND, 3.0 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 3 Bb, 4 K)...Suffered his first loss as a pro on 7/15 vs. Missoula (5.0 IP, 2 R, 2 ER, 7 H, 1 BB, 5 K)...Picked up his first pro win on 7/20 @ Missoula (6.0 IP, 4 R, 3 ER, 8 H, 1 BB, 6 K)...Had a string of eight consecutive starts of at least six strikeouts from 7/20-8/27.
